Marikina extends deadline for renewal of business permits

MANILA, Philippines — The Marikina City government has extended the deadline of renewal of business permits to from Jan. 20 to Feb. 28.

Mayor Marcelino Teodoro signed Ordinance 003 Series of 2022, which gave more time for traders to renew their business permits.

“Walang multa ang pag-rerenew ng business permit hanggang Feb. 28 (No penalties to renew business permits until Feb. 28),” the city government said in a Facebook post.

Teodoro said they decided to extend the deadline to help businessmen amid the latest surge in COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.

There are at least 2,048 active COVID-19 cases in Marikina, based on the latest report of the city health office.

Barangay Concepcion Dos logged the most number of cases with 265 followed by Nangka, 204; Fortune, 174; Concepcion Uno, 173, and Tumana, 141.
