MANILA, Philippines — Motorists started flocking to Manila’s drive-through COVID-19 booster vaccine rollout after the city government announced it would be open 24/7.

As of 8 a.m. yesterday, 845 people had been given booster shots, according to the city government.

Motorists started queuing at the drive-through vaccination site at the Quirino Grandstand since the city government opened it last Thursday.

Shortly after opening, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced the site would be open 24/7.

There would also be no limit to the number of cars allowed to pass through the vaccination site, he added.

Moreno said the drive-through booster vaccination would remain open to both Manila residents and outsiders.

As of 1:50 p.m. yesterday, the city government said it had administered at least 3.1 million COVID-19 vaccine doses: more than 1.64 million people received their first doses while over 1.52 million others were fully vaccinated.
