PCG ready for increased sea travels

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will be on a heightened alert from Dec. 16 to Jan. 5 as the number of sea travels is expected to increase during the Christmas holiday.

The PCG said its preparations are in line with the Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2021 program of the Department of Transportation.

PCG commandant Adm. Leopoldo Laroya ordered all PCG districts, stations and sub-stations nationwide to coordinate with concerned government agencies in ensuring the safety and security at all ports, harbors and areas where passengers are expected to converge before their departure during  the holiday.

Laroya gave assurance that health protocols would be observed in these areas.
