P1.6 million shabu seized in sting

MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated around 245.3 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P1.66 million in a sting in Taguig City on Friday night.

Jemily Lasdon was arrested when he allegedly negotiated with an undercover police officer for P7,000 worth of shabu in Barangay New Lower Bicutan at around 10 p.m., according to Metro Manila police chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr.

Lasdon is being held on charges of drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, Clarissa Salgado, 53, was arrested after she was reportedly caught with four grams of shabu valued at P27,200 during a raid on her house in Barangay Pineda, Pasig City yesterday.

Pasig police chief Col. Roman Arugay said Salgado is on their drug watchlist as a high-value target.
