Makati: A2, A3 may walk in for boosters

MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Makati has allowed walk-ins at vaccination sites in the city for senior citizens and immunocompromised individuals who want to get COVID-19 booster shots.

In its advisory posted on its Facebook page yesterday, the city government said those belonging to the A2 and A3 categories – senior citizens and immunocompromised persons, respectively – who are fully vaccinated may visit their vaccination sites for their booster shot.

Those considered immunocompromised are people who have immunodeficiency,  HIV or AIDS, cancer, those who underwent an organ transplant and people taking immunosuppresives.

The city government said pregnant women and those with other comorbidities are not yet included in booster shots as there are still no guidelines from the Department of Health.

People who want to have their booster shots should bring valid identification cards and their vaccination cards.

Those belonging to the A3 category must also bring a medical clearance certificate form their physicians.

There are at least 70 active COVID-19 cases in Makati, based on the local government’s latest report.
