Navotas: Active COVID-19 cases down to 22

MANILA, Philippines — There are only 22 active COVID cases in Navotas as of Friday, the city government said yesterday.

In the city government’s latest tally, only one new COVID-19 case was added while three recovered, bringing the city’s total of recoveries to 17,046 cases.

The city government has recorded 17,611 confirmed cases with 543 deaths.

The active COVID cases are from Barangays Bagumbayan North and San Roque with one each; NBBS Dagatdagatan, five; NBBS Proper, San Jose, Tangos North and Tanza 1, two each; Sipac Almacen with three and Tangos South with four.

Mayor Toby Tiangco said the Navotas was reported to be a “very low risk” area for the past three weeks by OCTA Research.

Makati cases drop by 97%

In Makati, the number of COVID cases has dropped by at least 97 percent.

The city’s public information office said in its latest report there are 83 active cases in Makati as of Friday, lower by 97.48 percent when COVID infections peaked at 3,298 last Sept. 9.

The barangays with the most number of cases are Olympia with nine and San Lorenzo, East Rembo, Rizal and West Rembo, six each.

Meanwhile, eight barangays have no new COVID-19 cases: Carmona, Magallanes, San Isidro, Singkamas, Urdaneta, Pitogo and Post Proper Northside.  – Emmanuel Tupas
