2 Chinese charged with kidnapping
MANILA, Philippines — Police on Thursday filed charges against two Chinese men who allegedly kidnapped their two compatriots in Las Pinas City.
Gao Yuan-yuan and Qin Yue Hang were charged with kidnapping and illegal detention before the Department of Justice in Manila following their arrest. Li Jingnan, identified as their accomplice, remains at large.
Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, Anti-Kidnapping Group director, said kidnap victims Su Pengyin, Zhiwei Xiu and Cao Qi – all employees of a Philippine offshore gaming operator – were rescued during a raid on a building along Alabang- Zapote Road in Barangay Almanza Uno at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
Su and Cao were kidnapped last September while Zhiwei was taken in July.
Dimas said the operation stemmed from an email referral from the Chinese embassy about the illegal detention of three Chinese nationals in the building.
