Neil Jayson Servallos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — San Juan has finished the distribution of more than P101.7 million in ayuda or cash aid to families affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

“We are happy to announce that San Juan has completed the payout of ECQ assistance from the national government amounting to P101,794,000 as of Aug. 31, the deadline set by the Department of the Interior and Local Government,” Mayor Francis Zamora said yesterday.

Zamora said the city government would proceed with the distribution of the 17th wave of food packs to residents.

At least 45,000 food packs containing rice, canned goods, powdered milk and other food items will be distributed house-to-house in all barangays.

As of Tuesday, San Juan had recorded 774 active COVID-19 cases, 252 deaths and 10,365 recoveries.

Last month, San Juan achieved herd immunity against COVID-19 after fully vaccinating 123,957 people or 140 percent of its target population.
