Parañaque area under 5-day lockdown
MANILA, Philippines — An area in Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque was placed under a five-day granular lockdown starting yesterday after several COVID-19 cases were reported in the area.
Banner Garden Site in Fourth Estate’s lockdown will last until Aug. 4, city administrator Fernando Soriano told The STAR.
The cases have not been confirmed to be of the highly transmissible Delta variant, he said.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez, along with several city officials, went to the area yesterday to ensure security and order at the site.
Olivarez, in a Facebook post, said food packs would be distributed to families affected by the calibrated lockdown.
Disinfection and sanitation would be conducted in the area as well as mass testing and contact tracing, he said.
