Lane closed for rite today

MANILA, Philippines — Roxas Boulevard’s northbound lane would be closed to traffic today to give way to the observance of the 75th anniversary of the Third Philippine Republic.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs, United States embassy and other government agencies will lead the commemoration of the 75th anniversaries of the Inauguration of the Third Philippine Republic and Philippine-US diplomatic relations at the Independence Flag Pole in Rizal Park.

According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard, from T.M. Kalaw street to Katigbak Drive, would be closed starting at 6 a.m.

Drivers of light vehicles going to Bonifacio Drive should turn right on T.M. Kalaw street, left on Ma. Orosa street, left on P. Burgos Avenue and right on Bonifacio Drive to their destination.

Drivers of trucks and trailer trucks who intend to use the lane should turn right on President Quirino Avenue to Plaza Dilao.

The actual opening and closing of the affected lane would be based on the actual traffic situation, the MPD said.
