22 Olongapo cops contract COVID-19

OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines —  Twenty-two members of the Olongapo police tested positive for COVID following a recent mass swab testing in this city.

The figure was the highest single-day record of COVID infections among police officers in the city since the pandemic started last year.

The city police said all its stations would remain operational despite the situation.

It said the infected officers were placed in a quarantine facility for treatment and observation.

The Central Luzon police has over 1,400 COVID  cases among their ranks.

Data showed five officers in the region have died from the virus.
