16 more Caloocan resort goers infected
MANILA, Philippines — Sixteen more Gubat sa Ciudad resort guests have tested positive for COVID-19, the Caloocan City government said yesterday.
Fifty-five others are still waiting for their test results while around 200 have not been contacted because they provided false information on their contact tracing forms.
Four resort guests had earlier tested positive for the virus.
The Caloocan government is tracing the close contacts of those who went to the resort on Mothers’ Day.
Meanwhile, the Caloocan city council ordered the suspension for 60 days of Romeo Rivera, chairman of Barangay 171, where the resort was located, with the filing of administrative cases for gross neglect of duty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.
The owners of the resort also face a criminal complaint before the Caloocan prosecutor’s office for violating quarantine protocols.
