New Batangas top cop named

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The Batangas police has a new director.

Col. Glicerio Cansilao assumed the post yesterday, replacing Col. Rex Malimban.

The reshuffle was part of the realignment of the PNP (Philippine National Police) in the region, Cruz told The STAR.

When asked if more provincial directors and police chiefs in Calabarzon would be affected in the reorganization, Cruz said new appointments would come from Camp Crame or Malacañang.

Cruz said some police chiefs were relieved from their post to allow for career advancement.
