P5 million marijuana torched
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — More than P5 million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed by a joint team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Cordillera police at a plantation bordering the provinces of Kalinga and Mountain Province over the weekend.
Aside from the plants, the team discovered at least a kilo of dried marijuana leaves and stalks in the area located in Sadanga in Mountain Province and Tinglayan in Kalinga.
The raid was part of the efforts of the PDEA and the police to prevent the movement of marijuana in the region as well as in the country.
No one was arrested during the raid.
