MANILA, Philippines — Pasay recorded 100 new COVID-19 infections in just one day as the city government placed 33 barangays on a two-week lockdown beginning on Saturday due to the spike in cases.

Data from the local health office showed that on Feb. 20, the city registered 348 COVID-19 cases, from 248 infections recorded a day before.

The figure brought to 7,561 the total number of COVID-19 cases, with 7,018 recoveries and 195 deaths as of Saturday.

City hall said residents aged 21 to 30 registered the most number of cases with 95, followed by 41 to 50 years old with 63; 31 to 40 age bracket with 62; senior citizens with 46; 51 to 60 years old with 44; 11 to 20 age group with 23, and one to 10 years old with 15.
