Cop shot dead in Negros

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — Motorcycle-riding gunmen killed a policeman in Barangay Lumbangan, Mabinay, Negros Oriental on Monday.

Police said M/Sgt. Jeseden Carriaga, 54, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Mabinay Community Hospital.

Witnesses said the victim was about to ride his motorcycle when he was shot.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the gun attack.
