49 more cops catch COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Forty-nine more police officers have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.
Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Philippine National Police deputy chief for administration, said 19 of the new patients are from various operational and administrative support units of the PNP.
Ten of the new cases are from Metro Manila, six each from Ilocos and Central Luzon, three from Western Visayas, two from Soccsksargen and one each from Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas and the Cordilleras.
Eleazar said 9,381 PNP personnel have contracted the virus.
A total of 9,008, or 96.02 percent have recovered.
The death toll remains at 28 while 345 remain in quarantine facilities and hospitals.
