Wounded Philippine Eagle rescued in Sarangani

SARANGANI, Philippines — A wounded Philippine Eagle trapped in rattan vines in the forest in Maitum town in this province has been rescued by villagers.
The Maitum municipal government and Kiamba community environment and natural resources office said a certain Ganang, a member of a tribal community, found the eagle.
The eagle has two gunshot wounds, according to Maitum Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit.
The bird was turned over to the Philippine Eagle Foundation in Davao City.
