NCRPO: Firecrackers banned in Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) yesterday reminded the public that firecrackers are prohibited in Metro Manila during the holiday season.
NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao said Metro Manila mayors agreed to ban firecrackers during the recent regional peace and order council meeting.
Fireworks displays in the communities approved by the local governments will be allowed, Danao said.
“We would be implementing the total ban on the use and distribution of firecrackers in the metropolis,” Danao said.
Police said individuals caught without face shields and masks while in public would be arrested.
