Muntinlupa, Pateros ease curfew hours
MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa government will implement shorter curfew hours beginning tomorrow as the Christmas season nears.
Under Ordinance 2020-144, only frontliners, workers and residents buying essential goods are allowed to go out between 12 midnight and 3 a.m.
Violators will be fined P300 for the first offense, P500 for the second offense, and P1,000 for third and subsequent offenses.
In Pateros, Mayor Miguel Ponce III signed an executive order easing curfew hours in the municipality.
From 12 midnight to 4 a.m., the new curfew will be from 12 midnight to 3 a.m.
“We still need to limit the movement of people to sustain the local government’s efforts in preventing the transmission of COVID-19,” Ponce said.
Muntinlupa and Pateros also banned street caroling, Christmas parties, house-to-house solicitations and flea markets from Dec. 1 to Jan. 10 next year.
