Go gives aid to Bulacan typhoon victims
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go personally delivered various forms of assistance to victims of Typhoon Ulysses in Plaridel, Bulacan on Friday.
Go’s staff also delivered additional assistance to beneficiaries in Bustos town on Thursday.
The senator’s office had previously extended assistance to typhoon victims in Bocaue, Calumpit, Marilao, Hagonoy and Meycauayan.
The distribution activity in Plaridel was held at San Diego gym while the event in Bustos was held at the municipal compound.
A total of 1,150 individuals received assistance from the senator.
Go and his team distributed meals, food packs, vitamins, face masks and face shields.
Selected beneficiaries were given bicycles that they could use to commute to work given limited public transportation options due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Others were given tablets to help their children in blended learning being implemented in schools.
Representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development were present to provide additional assistance to the victims.
Go urged residents with medical concerns to go to the Malasakit Center at the Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City and Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital in Sta. Maria to seek government assistance.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure the availability, accessibility and affordability of the COVID-19 vaccine, especially for the poor and vulnerable sectors.
