MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 48 new coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 infections among its personnel as of Sunday.
The new cases brought the total confirmed cases in the force at 7,677 since March.
Records show a majority of the fresh cases were recorded in Eastern Visayas with 19 and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos) with nine each.
The rest of the cases came from the Cordilleras with four, Cagayan Valley with three, and Bicol, Davao, Metro Manila and Zamboanga peninsula with two each.
Ilocos, Central Luzon and Western Visayas recorded one case each.
