Cop, suspect killed in North Cotabato shootout

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A police officer and a murder suspect were killed in a shootout in Akaran, North Cotabato yesterday.

M/Sgt. Rofel Manuel and Arnold Maligatong died at the scene, according to a police report.

Police said the shootout occurred when Maligatong fired at police officers serving a warrant of arrest at his hideout in Barangay Libertad.
