Laguna drug ring leader killed in sting

LAGUNA, Philippines — A suspected leader of a drug ring was killed in a sting in Sta. Rosa City yesterday.

Police said Conrado Alomia, 24, drew his gun when he sensed that he had sold shabu to a law enforcer who posed as a buyer in Barangay Caingin. Alomia’s companion Kerine Constantino, 31, was arrested.

Lt. Col. Vicente Amante, Sta. Rosa police chief, said the fatality was the leader of the Alomia drug and robbery gang, which is operating in the first district of this province.

In Cotabato City, Sitti Omar Luman, 65, was arrested on Friday for alleged possession of P5.1 million worth of shabu.

Juvenal Azurin, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao director, said Abdul Manamparan II, former mayor of Nunangan town in Lanao del Sur, was arrested during a raid on his house in Upper Balulang area in Cagayan de Oro City while barangay councilman Jaher Guiapal was apprehended in a sting in Buluan, Maguindanao.

Azurin said the suspects both yielded P136,000 worth of shabu.
