MANILA, Philippines — Over 10,000 jobs in government agencies will be available during a week-long online career fair to be conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) starting today.

The CSC announced that 249 national government agencies, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations as well as state universities and colleges would participate in the jobs fair, which will run until Friday.

As of yesterday afternoon, the CSC said there were 2,452 job vacancies posted by the participating government offices.

CSC Commissioner Aileen Lizada said among the available positions are deputy register of deeds, administrative and procurement officers and those applicable for lawyers and accountants.

Calabarzon and Mimaropa account for 28 percent of the jobs followed by Central Visayas with 18 percent and Western Visayas with 15 percent.

Interested applicants must create an account with the online recruitment portal JobStreet.com, the CSC’s partner for this year’s Government Online Career Fair.

After creating an account, applicants must register for the event by visiting the website https://onlinejobfair.jobstreet.com.ph.

Once registered, applicants will be able to download CSC Form No. 100 or Personal Data Sheet and view the job listings.

The job fair is part of the CSC’s month-long celebration of the 120th Philippine Civil Service anniversary.

JobStreet Philippines country head Philip Gioca said they decided to hold the career fair to help more people find jobs amid the global health crisis.

JobStreet said as of August, 60 percent of workers were affected by COVID-19, with 17 percent permanently retrenched and 43 percent temporarily not working.

The report said the hardest hit industries were tourism and travel; food and beverage; hospitality and catering; architecture, building and construction, and the education sector. – Louella Desiderio
