Sto. Niño Bridge closed for repairs
MANILA, Philippines — The southbound lane of Sto. Niño Bridge in Parañaque was closed for rehabilitation beginning yesterday, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.
To ease traffic congestion in the area, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said a two-way zipper lane was set up on the northbound lane of the bridge.
Villar said the repair works aim to strengthen the old bridge along the Ninoy Aquino Avenue.
The bridge section is expected to reopen by April next year.
The DPWH urged motorists to take alternate routes.
