P.7 million Chinese medicine confiscated at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) confiscated 180 kilos of Chinese medicines misdeclared as “vitamin pills” with a street value of around P700,000 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), an official said yesterday.

The Chinese medicines, which did not have Food and Drug Administration clearance, were sent from Xiamen in China’s Fujian province and consigned to a man in Muntinlupa City, according to BOC-NAIA district collector Mimel Talusan.
