Chinese held for beating up delivery man

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese was arrested for allegedly beating up a food delivery man at a residential building in Makati City on Thursday.

Ye Chen, 29, allegedly hit Ruel Santiago Falceso, 44, with the ceramic cover of his  water closet when the victim told him he would place his food at the doorstep of his fifth-floor unit at the Linear Building’s Tower 2 as part of the no-contact delivery protocol to curb the spread of the coronavirus, police said.

The building’s security guard arrested Ye and turned him over to the city police after Falceso reported the incident.

Ye himself was apparently beaten up prior to being turned over to police custody.
