Mandaluyong village set for week-long lockdown

MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City will be placed under a week-long total lockdown beginning tomorrow.

Mayor Menchie Abalos said yesterday that city hall, barangay, health and law enforcement officials met yesterday and reached the decision to enforce the lockdown to stop the rise of coronavirus disease 2019 cases.

Addition Hills recorded the most number of cases in the city with 57 confirmed cases. All of Mandaluyong’s barangays have confirmed cases, with a total of 418 confirmed cases city-wide.

During the lockdown, the city government will subject 3,000 residents to rapid testing and distribute food packs to each household.

Abalos said she would be releasing an executive order for the guidelines on the implementation of the measure.
