Marine corporal dead, 12 injured in Maguindanao road mishap

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A Marine corporal died and 12 other soldiers were injured when their truck rolled over in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao yesterday.

Cpl. Mitra Sucaldito died at the scene, police said.

Pfcs. Niel Ingreso, Jasrel Ambat, Harve Fabro and Ivan Figueroa and Cpls.  Joel Lagos, Marvin Gatchalian, Robert de Asis, Ian Camporedondo, Jordan Cellio, Ryan Ignacio, Jared Sugagil and Cedrick Javares were injured and taken to a military hospital in Camp Siongco in Datu Odin Sinsuat for treatment.

The accident occurred along the Cotabato-Davao Highway in Barangay Alamada while the soldiers were on their way to a public market in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.

An investigation is underway.
