P.4 million shabu seized, 8 nabbed in Zamboanga
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents have been told not to let their guard down in the campaign against illegal drugs to ensure that suspects will not take advantage of the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
Brig. Gen. Froilan Quidilla, regional police director, said eight persons were arrested and nearly P400,000 worth of shabu was seized in Zamboanga del Norte and in this city on Friday.
Quidilla said Salma Hassan Abdulla, 51, yielded six sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P125,000.
Shabu worth P143,000 was recovered from six other suspects in this city.
Albert Andog, 23, who was arrested in a sting in Barangay Kauswagan, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte, reportedly yielded 22 sachets of shabu valued at P102,000.
Quidilla urged residents to support the war against illegal drugs by reporting transactions in their areas.
