Pinay held at NAIA over P.4 million
MANILA, Philippines — A Filipino woman was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to smuggle P400,000 as she was about to leave the country, an official said yesterday.
Bureau of Customs-NAIA district collector Mimel Talusan said the woman, whom she declined to identify, carried the cash without authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
The BOC urged the public to seek a written authority from the BSP for cross-border transactions of local currency amounting to more than P50,000.
