MANILA, Philippines — Seven police officers, including an alleged “ninja” cop, have tested positive for shabu following a series of random drug tests.

S/Sgt. Ronald Carpio tested positive for shabu. He is among the 357 policemen in the narco list for alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade, Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, director of the National Capital Region Police Office, said yesterday.

Policemen accused of recycling drugs seized during anti-narcotics operations are referred to as ninja.

More than 6,000 members of the NCRPO underwent surprise drug tests since October last year.

The NCRPO identified two other policemen who tested positive for drug use: Corporals Florian Peter Andres Arboleda and Anthony Romano.

Arboleda was assigned with the Sta. Mesa police station drug enforcement unit. Romano was a driver at the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division.

Sinas said they would file criminal and administrative charges against the policemen.

At least 31 police officers were included in President Duterte’s drug list. Of the number, Sinas said 22 are under adjudication process while nine others had gone AWOL or absent without official leave.
