Suspect, cohort slain in gunfight with cops
LANAO DEL SUR, Philippines– A murder suspect was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in this province on Wednesday.
Jalaloding Mocsir and his suspected cohort Nasrullah Capal allegedly opened fire on police officers serving a warrant at their hideout in Saguiaran town.
Mocsir and Capal died at the scene, according to Col. Madgani Mukaram, Lanao del Sur police director.
Mocsir, who was identified with the Dawlah Islamiya terror group, was wanted for the murder of Safra Mabantog Pangandaman on Jan. 31, 2017 and Mojera Macalangan on Aug. 30 last year, both in Marawi City.
He was also tagged in the ambush of Mayor Nasser Pangandaman of Masiu last Nov. 10 that left the mayor’s escort, S/Sgt. Jabar Pangandaman, dead.
Mocsir’s wife Bling and four of his relatives were arrested for harboring criminals.
