3 dead in Negros road mishap

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — Three motorcycle riders died when their vehicle rammed a cargo truck parked along the road in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Wednesday night.

Melvin Kim Aringa, 27; Mark Christopher Gozon, 22, and Tommy Dumdumaya, 25, were declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city, police said.

 Investigation showed that the motorcycle driven by Aringa, rearended the truck while its occupants were waiting for rescue after the vehicle encountered mechanical trouble.

The truck driver, Mark Cunanan, did not put up an early warning device, according to Maj. Robert Dejucos, Murcia police officer-in-charge.

Cunanan is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide.
