TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A corn vendor died in a road accident in Barangay Pared, Alcala, Cagayan on Friday.
Sherwin Oganiza, 45, was hit by a speeding truck when he crossed the highway at around 3 p.m. He died at the scene.
Responding police officers arrested the truck driver, Jayson Catilod, 38.
Also in Cagayan, four persons were injured when an owner type jeep collided with a tricycle along the highway in Barangay Abbangkeruan, Pamplona town.
The tricycle driver, Jaysel John Espiritu, 19, and jeepney driver Juanito Vispo, 58, were among the injured.
