Cop, 3 others killed in Negros shootings
BACOLOD CITY , Philippines – A police officer allegedly killed himself after he accidentally shot dead his companion during a drinking spree at a house in Barangay 21, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.
Police said the gun of Pat. Dionel Lutao of the Western Visayas Regional Mobile Force Battalion accidentally went off and hit James Karl Sernal in the head.
Lutao reportedly went out of the house and fired shots in the air before he aimed his gun at his mouth.
The two were declared dead on arrival at the Ikaayong Lawas Foundation Hospital.
In Negros Oriental, motorcycle riders Shandy Shanon, 21, and Godwin Solamillo, 26, were gunned down along Sta. Catalina street in Barangay 4, Poblacion, Dumaguete City.
Meanwhile, in Surigao del Sur, Violeta de Guzman, 34, was killed while her husband Julius, 37, was wounded in a gun attack in Barangay Diatagon, Lianga, also on Tuesday.
Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
