P34 million shabu seized in Tawi-Tawi

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Five kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P34 million were recovered in a sting in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi yesterday.

Haberson Jaafar, Elmer Jamadin and Adzfar Asali were arrested by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Marine Battalion Landing Team-9 and Tawi-Tawi police, who posed as buyers of shabu in Barangay Poblacion.

Edgar Jubay, PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao acting director, said the suspects face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Jubay said anti-drug operatives are tracking down the supplier of the suspects.
