Cancer patient claims P50.3 million lotto jackpot

MANILA, Philippines —  A 65-year-old cancer patient, who had received assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), returned to the agency this week not to request for more aid but to claim the jackpot in the 6/49 Super Lotto drawn on Sunday.

The bettor from Cavite has nasopharyngeal cancer, according to PCSO general manager Royina Marzan-Garma.

“She is a recipient of chemo assistance from the PCSO,” Garma said.

The winner bet for a lucky pick or computer-generated ticket from a lotto outlet near Baclaran Church in Parañaque.

The winning numbers, 35-38-09-17-10-15, had  a total jackpot of P50,305,924.

The winner said she would use the money for her treatment and to help her family.

The PCSO said 10 other bettors won P70,000 each for guessing five of the winning numbers.
