MANILA,Philippines — Members of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) seized P36 million worth of shabu from two suspected dealers in Pasay City on Monday.

Around six kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and a Toyota Camry were confiscated from suspects Emerson Fernandez, 39, and Peter Lanuzga, 46, said PDEG director Col. Romeo Caramat Jr.

The suspects were arrested during a drug bust in front of a fastfood restaurant along Roxas Boulevard at around 8 p.m.

Caramat believes the suspects have been selling prohibited narcotics for a long time. An investigation is underway to determine their source of drugs.

In Quezon City, a woman was arrested yesterday after she allegedly tried to smuggle shabu hidden in a packed meal for a prisoner at a police station.

Col. Ronnie Montejo, acting Quezon City Police District director, said Camie Olaguer, 27,  went to the Fairview police station at around 3 a.m. to visit her friend, Bon Marco Medina, who is detained on drug charges.

Olaguer insisted on going to her friend past visiting hours, prompting S/Sgt. William Lacuesta, the duty custodial officer, to check the food she was bringing.

A sachet of shabu was found hidden in the packed meal while five more sachets of shabu were found in her possession. The seized drugs have a street value of P1,600.

In Makati City, 81 sachets of shabu worth P350,000, two tablets of ecstasy worth P3,000, two .45 caliber pistols and 33 bullets were seized from 10 persons during a sting in Barangay Pembo at past midnight yesterday.
