Bulacan village chief slain

MALOLOS City, Philippines — A barangay chairman in San Ildefonso town was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men yesterday.

Rosteo Salao of Barangay Lapnit was driving his motorcycle at around 5:50 a.m. when the gunmen who were  tailing him shot him in the head, Lt. Col. Voltaire Rivera, acting San Ildefonso police chief, said.

Salao is the second village chairman recently killed in San Ildefonso.

On Oct. 22, Malipampang barangay chairman Felimon Santos was shot dead in front of a store, also by unidentified men.
