Police asset shot dead in Mandaluyong

MANILA, Philippines — A police asset was killed by a bonnet-wearing gunman in Barangay Hulo, Mandaluyong City on Sunday night.

Felipe dela Rosa, alias Pitok, 40, was declared dead on arrival at the Mandaluyong City Medical Center from a gunshot to the head.

City police chief Col. Remigio Sedanto said Dela Rosa had just been released from jail on drug charges.

According to a police report, Sedanto was buying fishball at the corner of Grialte and San Francisco streets when the assailant arrived.

 A witness told probers that the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim.

The suspect walked away from the scene when Dela Rosa fell to the ground.

Responding members of the Police Community Precinct 2 rushed the victim to the hospital but to no avail.

Police said they have yet to determine if the killing was drug-related.

Meanwhile, in Caloocan City, a suspected drug pusher was apprehended for alleged possession of over P1 million worth of shabu on Sunday.

Alcober Rosevelito was nabbed during a drug sting in Barangay Deparo.

Police said they recovered from Rosevelito around 150 grams of shabu.

The suspect is being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
