DPWH holds weekend road repairs

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Public Works and Highways will close down several roads along EDSA today for repair, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.

The roads were closed for reblocking and repairs starting at 11 p.m. yesterday.

Southbound: EDSA Camp Crame gate to Annapolis street (beside MRT); EDSA before Estrella (outer lane); EDSA Panorama building to Bansalangin street (first lane from sidewalk); G. Araneta T. Arguelles to Bayanin (first lane from sidewalk).

Eastbound: Quirino Highway  Quezon City King Fisher to Belfast (inner lane); General Luis street Rebisco road to SB road; Elliptical road after Maharlika street (sixth lane from outer sidewalk).

Northbound: A. Bonifacio avenue J. Pineda street to Marvex street (second lane from sidewalk); EDSA after Aurora boulevard to New York street (third lane from sidewalk); Katipunan avenue/C-5  after CP Garcia street (truck lane); EDSA near NIA South Road (3rd lane from the sidewalk).

The roads will be passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, the MMDA said.

The Manila Police District (MPD) traffic enforcement unit will close down roads in Malate this afternoon for the Oktoberfest.

The stretch of Nakpil street from Guerrero street to Adriatico street, as well as Bocobo street from Remedios Circle to Nakpil street, will be closed starting at 4 p.m. today.

Vehicles plying Nakpil street coming from Taft Avenue bound for Roxas Boulevard are advised to turn right to San Andres street while those plying Bocobo street from Remedios circle should take the nearest roundabout.
