MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure-area (LPA) spotted off Cagayan is expected to bring rains over Northern Luzon, state weather forcasters said yesterday.

Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras and Ilocos Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, according to a weather bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the weather system was at 50 kilometers east of Tuguegarao. Residents were warned to watch out for flash floods or landslides that may be brought by occasional heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
