NIA contractor gunned down

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — A contractor of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and his companion were killed in a gun attack in this city on Saturday.

Capt. Jason Sto. Domingo, Bulua police station chief, said Wilmer Apostol, 44, NIA contractor in Valencia City, Bukidnon, and Bryan Retchie Campugan, 26, were shot by motorcycle-riding men when their Kia Bongo truck  slowed down in Barangay Canitoan.

Witnesses said one of the gunmen took a bag from the passenger’s seat of the truck before escaping.

Apostol was reportedly carrying cash at the time.

Meanwhile, in Cagayan, laborer Jujit Torda, 30, was driving home his motorcycle when he was shot dead in Barangay Pattao, Buguey.
