Infant seized from Isabela hospital rescued in Ilocos Sur

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan , Philippines — A male infant taken from a hospital in Isabela on Tuesday was rescued in a house in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur on Sunday. 

S/Sgt. Hazel Ignacio said a certain Virginia Semana, 40, was arrested in Barangay Baracbac.

Ignacio said footage of closed-circuit television camera identified Semana as the woman carrying a baby as she was leaving the Southern Isabela Medical Center.

The suspect was also seen carrying the baby at a bus terminal.

Semana told police she took the baby to gain the approval of the parents of her boyfriend.
