Riders yield drugs, firearms

MANILA, Philippines — Two motorcycle-riding men were arrested for alleged possession of illegal drugs and firearms in Makati City before dawn yesterday.

Jemson Quiran, 23, and Bryan Jay Bacuyong, 26, were traveling in Barangay Pio del Pilar when they were spotted by patrolling police officers at around 1:15 a.m.

The suspects reportedly tried to evade the officers, who cornered them along Evangelista street.

Probers said two revolvers, a screwdriver and two plastic sachets containing shabu were recovered from the suspects.

Several hours later, construction worker Bernard Donggon, 43, who was on the drug list of the police, was arrested for drug possession in Pasay City.
