MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted on Friday a package containing rifle parts, misdeclared as “buckles,” sent from Shanghai, China.

A total of 20 rifle hand guards and six hand guard locks were found in a package that arrived at the DHL warehouse without the necessary permits from the Philippine National Police (PNP), said BOC-Ninoy Aquino International Airport district collector Mimel Talusan.

The seized rifle parts will be turned over to the PNP’s Firearms and Explosives Office for proper disposition, she said.
