7 dead in North Cotabato, Isabela road mishaps

MANILA, Philippines — Four persons died and three others were seriously injured when a Toyota Innova collided with a tricycle along the Cotabato-Davao Highway in Matalam, North Cotabato yesterday.

The fatalities and those injured are the passengers of the tricycle.

The victims were brought to the Matalam Municipal Hospital.

In Isabela, tricycle driver Marconi Ramos, 48, and his unidentified passenger died after their vehicle was hit by a motorcycle when it was hit by a bus in Barangay Taringsing, Cordon at around 3 a.m. also yesterday.

The driver of the motorcycle, Arwel Alpecho, 25, and his companion Diana Rose Canlas were injured and brought to a hospital for treatment.

The bus driver, Christopher Aggarao, 40, was arrested by responding police officers.

On Friday, in Echague, Manuel Cutaran, 57, was declared dead on arrival in a hospital after his motorcycle was hit by a tricycle in Barangay Narra at around 9:20 p.m. on Friday. ­

In Pangasinan, George Lomibao and his wife Rosalie died when their motorcycle collided with another motorbike in Barangay Bolingit in San Carlos City on Thursday. – Raymund Catindig, Eva Visperas
