3 men slain in Port Area
MANILA, Philippines — Three men were killed in Port Area, Manila on Saturday night.
Residents told police that a burst of gunfire was heard at the Baseco Compound at around 7:40 p.m.
Cpl. Rodel Benitez, Manila Police District homicide investigator, said Ronald Lim, 34, was found dead beside the main door of a two-story house in the compound while the bodies of Nasser Madam, 27, and Ismael Kawi, 40, were discovered in their respective rooms.
All three victims lived in Block 15A in Baseco Compound.
The victims’ bodies were riddled with bullets from still unknown type of firearms, he said.
Drug paraphernalia were recovered from the two rooms but no drugs were recovered.
Benitez said Lim, a member of a jail gang, recently served time for illegal drugs. Probers are still checking the background of the two other victims.
